Laura Landon-Newton is the founder of Aligned Licensed Legal Paraprofessional, LLC. She obtained her BA in Legal Studies in 2011 and has been working in family law since 2009. As part of the inaugural cohort, Laura received her Licensed Legal Paraprofessional (LLP) licensure in 2024. Laura has participated in LLP-focused Colorado Supreme Court subcommittees since 2021 and has enjoyed assisting in the development of the professional – including testifying before the Colorado Supreme Court on multiple occasions. In 2024, she was appointed to the Colorado Supreme Court’s LLP Oversight Committee – one of only two non-attorneys on that council – and uses her unique perspective to support the LLP practitioners as to changes in the profession, rules related thereto and, where applicable, the family law field of law.
Laura’s practice is focused on providing affordable, solutions-based family law assistance. Her approach, combined with her Collaborative Law training, offers folks experiencing divorce and custody matters an alternative to the traditional attorney and court experience. She frequently assists clients on an unbundled basis as well as providing full representation.
Laura is a frequent presenter regarding the LLP profession. she is a board member of both the CBA LLP Committee and the Colorado Collaborative Divorce Professionals group. She is also a member of several Bar associations and remains active in the family law community.
